A Tiago Leite double strike underpinned Grange Rangers’ whitewash win against Suffolk Swifts at Foundry Lane.

Matti King and Phil Gregg also got their names on the scorecard in the emphatic 4-0 victory.

Rangers were gifted their opening goal when the keeper allowed King’s 25-yard free-kick to squirm under his body in to the net.

The west Belfast side then had a good spell, forcing Mark Deegan to make a couple of smart saves, but approaching the interval Gregg doubled the lead with a firm header from a Dean Johnston cross.

Sustained pressure during the third quarter proved fruitful, when Leite converted a penalty awarded for a handling offence, and then he doubled his tally following a mazy solo run from halfway.

Manager Stephen King said it was very satisfying to get back to winning ways following last week’s Junior Shield defeat.

Grange Rangers: Deegan; White, Gault, Johnston, Cooper (C), Thompson, Gregg, C Bell, Leite, King, McGookin. Subs: McMullan, McCoy, Boyle.
