A teenager was tragically killed on the Scarva Road in Banbridge on Thursday morning (March 20).

It is understood the 14 year old boy was killed after being struck by a van shortly before 8am.

A 30 year old man, who was driving the van, was arrested and police are appealing for witnesses.

The road was closed for much of the day and traffic was diverted along Balloo Road.
