Slideshow: King for a day in Carrickfergus
King William has been greeted by thousands of people after making a colourful return to the historic town of Carrickfergus.
The Dutch visitor’s arrival at the harbour on his way to the Battle of the Boyne in 1690 is retold annually in a popular pageant.
As he made his away past the famous medieval castle in the 2015 re-enactment, King William was cheered by spectators who also had the opportunity to have their photos taken with him and other characters from the production.
