First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness say piecemeal measures will not “eradicate ‘wicked’ issues such as poor health, low educational attainment and chronic unemployment.”

They said social change would only be delivered by Ministers working together with a longer term view towards the next Programme for Government and beyond.

“It is only through a more joined up approach that changes in children’s lives are achievable.

“In doing so, we believe we can help break the cycle of multi-generational poverty that blights so many communities across our society,” the Ministers stated.
