Morrison pledges to fight for jobs
Claiming that the inward investment promised by politicians in the wake of the Belfast Agreement hasn’t materialised, Mr Morrison said: “For all the talk following US investment conferences and other gimmicks organised by the Northern Ireland Executive, the reality is that devolution has failed to deliver when it came to the economy. It is evident that devolution in Northern Ireland needs root and branch reform in order to work.”
Pointing to the rising tide of unemployment across East Antrim, the TUV man added: “The truth is that a four-party mandatory coalition government will never be able to take the proactive and decisive action which is necessary in a time of global economic downturn. I believe that Stormont as presently constituted will never be able to deliver for the economy because of the basic fundamental flaws which are contained within it as a system of government.”
