Mayor in shop local appeal
The Mayor was joined by Alderman Allan Ewart, Development Committee Chairman, Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, and Jim McAuley, Translink’s Service Delivery Manager for the Lisburn District, at the Lisburn Bus Centre to call for the public’s support.
Translink has announced special fares for the Lisburn area.

Hide AdLynda Shannon, Communications Manager for Translink, explained: “We are delighted to bring in our new £2 Ulsterbus day return fare to entice local shoppers into their local towns and cities across NI helping to boost the local economy.
The special fare will continue through March 2016.
Councillor Beckett, said: “We appreciate Translink for setting up additional services this season at an affordable cost for everyone.
“We encourage everyone to take public transport this Christmas and enjoy some shopping in Lisburn.
“There are a variety of bus routes into the city centre from outlying rural areas and I am sure these residents will appreciate this low fare.”
