Larne jobless rate down by a fifth
According to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, there are 160 fewer claimants in the borough since October 2013. This represents a decrease of almost 19 per cent.
The latest statistics indicate a total of 689 claimants locally; 482 male and 207 female. The overall number of claimants has decreased by seven since last month.

Hide AdIn terms of Northern Ireland as a whole, the October claimant count decreased by 100 from the previous month and now stands at 52,100. Recent figures indicate that there has been a fall of 8,700 in the claimant count over the most recent 12 months.
This is the 22nd consecutive month in which there has been a fall in this measure of unemployment (12,700 over the period).
There were 1,283 proposed redundancies notified in the period mid October to mid November, with 169 confirmed redundancies in October.
