Former Larne Minister makes history at St Columb's with sibling canon
Last Thursday, Rev Malcolm Ferry joined his brother David who was installed at the Londonderry Cathedral 11 years earlier. The move is only the second time since records began that two brothers have served simultaneously in St Columb’s Cathedral.
Rev Malcolm Ferry was formerly the Rector of Kilwaughter and Cairncastle with All Saints Craigyhill between 1999 and 2003.

The preacher Rev Mervyn Peoples pointed out that the installation was happening on the Feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary and suggested that Canon Malcolm had much in common with Mary after being “entrusted with a priceless treasure.” He added he had no doubt the brothers’ parents William and Sara would be immensely proud if they had been alive today.
