“Dave Allen” Back in Ireland...
Premiered at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester to capacity audiences, an extended run and critical acclaim, ‘AT LARGE: Dave Allen – A Journey Through Life’ is an affectionate and often hilarious look at the life and work of the man once dubbed Ireland’s first alternative comedian.
The one-man show has been created and is performed by Kieran Cunningham whose “perfect timing and laconic delivery” (Manchester Evening News) are reminiscent of Allen’s own relaxed style. Cunningham is a more familiar face in UK theatre and on the small screen. Having lived for the past 25 years in Manchester, the Newry native went to drama school with contemporaries like Steve Coogan, and has appeared on ITV, BBC and RTE (from Game of Thrones to Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Fair City as well as TV dramas The Pale Horse and Shoot to Kill, among many others).
